Construction Tech Platform:
Connecting the Building Ecosystem.
Designed a multi-sided marketplace platform from scratch to connect clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and agents through a single source of truth across Web Platform and Mobile App experiences.
01. The Challenge: Fragmentation in the Construction Industry
The traditional construction industry is often constrained by fragmented workflows where information is spread across emails, calls, and paper documents. This causes delays, cost overruns, and critical misunderstandings across teams.
Design one platform that supports five different persona workflows: Client, Architect, Engineer, Contractor, and Real Estate Agent, while keeping shared project information consistent.
- Clients need high-level transparency and milestone-based approvals.
- Architects and engineers need precision tools for technical collaboration.
- Contractors need operational control for bids, timelines, and field teams.
- Agents need visibility into project progress and key commercial checkpoints.
02. The Solution: Tailored Experiences on a Unified Platform
Instead of a one-size-fits-all interface, the platform was designed with tailored dashboards and flows for each role, all connected to a unified data backbone to preserve consistency across the project lifecycle.
Designed a central hub where all parties can track progress, manage documents, and communicate in real time using synchronized project data.
- Architects and engineers: technical drawing uploads, version control, and direct annotation flows.
- Contractors: bid creation, construction timeline management, and on-site personnel tools.
- Clients: simplified progress tracking, milestone visibility, and payment approval views.
03. My Role
I led end-to-end UX/UI design for the platform, translating complex multi-party workflows into a coherent experience across web platform and mobile surfaces while balancing business, technical, and operational constraints.
Build a scalable interface system that reduces ambiguity between stakeholders and improves execution quality from design handoff through implementation.
- Defined interaction architecture for multi-role workflows and permissions.
- Designed web dashboard structures for project, document, and milestone visibility.
- Built reusable UI patterns to support consistency and faster implementation.
- Collaborated with product and engineering teams to align scope under NDA constraints.
04. Outcome
Although the product is still under development, the design phase established a strong operational foundation to improve transparency, collaboration, and coordination across the construction ecosystem.
Selected visuals and data points are anonymized due to NDA constraints while preserving the core UX and system-design narrative.
- Created a practical single source of truth to reduce ambiguity from fragmented communication.
- Improved collaboration efficiency via integrated communication and document flows.
- Provided a scalable UX foundation for future project delivery acceleration.
05. Reflection
This project reinforced that ecosystem products succeed when information architecture, operational clarity, and stakeholder trust are designed as one connected system.
System Clarity
A unified source of truth reduces coordination friction and prevents costly project misunderstandings.
Multi-role Balance
Designing for multiple stakeholder journeys requires clear hierarchy and disciplined workflow boundaries.
NDA-friendly Storytelling
Even with confidentiality constraints, strong UX outcomes can be communicated through system-level evidence.
