Revolutionizing Aquaculture
Data Management.
A UX case study on achieving
93% workflow optimization
through end-to-end redesign of
a mobile & web platform for
aquaculture farm management.
01. The Challenge
Farmers were burdened by a cumbersome 16-step workflow for daily water quality logging, leading to operational fatigue and high error rates. Simultaneously, internal teams struggled with data fragmentation, managing critical farm information across decentralized files.
02. Research & Insights
Through on-site field research, I identified that the harsh outdoor conditions (glare, moisture) required high-contrast, large-scale UI elements. Workflow mapping revealed that redundant data points could be consolidated into a single entry point to drastically minimize cognitive load.
03. The Solution
I architected a streamlined mobile experience that collapsed the 16-step nightmare into a unified single-screen interface. For operations, I built a Centralized Web Admin from scratch, establishing a ‘Single Source of Truth’. I also delivered a Scalable UI Kit to ensure cross-platform consistency.
04. The Impact
Achieved a 93% reduction in workflow complexity during internal usability benchmarking, transitioning from 16 fragmented steps to a single, unified entry screen. The redesigned workflow was validated through internal simulations, projecting a 3–5 minute time saving per entry under field-like conditions.
