[01]IMPACT & SUMMARY_

FIVE DISCONNECTED WORKFLOWS. ONE UNIFIED PLATFORM.

5 Roles

Unified clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and agents

Web + Mobile

Delivered a cross-platform multi-sided marketplace

Five different people need to use the same platform. The problem is — they each have a completely different definition of what "the project" looks like.

Digitized and centralized a highly fragmented construction process. By establishing a single source of truth, the platform enables seamless cross-party collaboration without duplicating data or confusing users.

Executive Summary

  • The Challenge: 5 distinct stakeholder types operated in silos across disconnected tools, leading to massive operational inefficiencies.
  • The Solution: Engineered a role-aware architecture where each persona receives a tailored dashboard powered by the same shared project database.
  • My Role: Sole Product Designer owning the full lifecycle—from enterprise discovery and IA to modular design systems and developer handoff.

[02]THE PROBLEM_

THE PROBLEM

ONE PLATFORM. FIVE ROLES. ZERO CONFUSION.

Five different people need to use the same platform. The problem is — they each have a completely different definition of what "the project" looks like.

In the construction industry, what an architect needs to see (version control for blueprints) is vastly different from what a client wants to see (payment milestones). Forcing them into the same interface creates cognitive overload.

[03]DISCOVERY & APPROACH_

DISCOVERY & APPROACH

DESIGNING WITH INCOMPLETE INFORMATION.

In strict enterprise B2B environments, direct access to end-users (like on-site contractors or busy clients) is often restricted by NDAs and operational barriers. Discovery required adapting to these constraints.

Enterprise Proxy Research

  • Stakeholder Walkthroughs: Utilized internal subject matter experts (SMEs) as proxies to map out the non-negotiable workflows for each role.
  • Data Mapping: Audited the required inputs and outputs for all 5 roles to identify overlapping data points (the shared backbone) versus unique views.

[04]THE SOLUTION_

THE SOLUTION

ROLE-AWARE DESIGN, SHARED DATA BACKBONE.

Contextual Dashboards

Stripped away irrelevant features per role. Clients see simplified progress trackers; Architects access complex annotation flows; Contractors manage fast-paced site bids.

Single Source of Truth

Ensured that a blueprint updated by an engineer instantly reflects on the contractor's mobile app, eliminating version conflicts.

Modular Component System

Built a highly reusable UI library that allowed the engineering team to rapidly assemble distinct views for Web and Mobile without writing custom code for each.

[05]Reflection_

Reflection

01

Systems Over Screens: Designing for 5 personas simultaneously forces you to think in structural systems. A single layout decision impacts multiple interconnected workflows.

02

Without direct access to end-users, stakeholder walkthroughs become your research. It sharpened my ability to design with incomplete information — a core enterprise skill.

03

Fail Early, Fix Cheaply: Skipping early low-fidelity stress tests to move fast is a false economy. Validating raw assumptions sooner makes downstream corrections significantly cheaper.
